Playdate

Last Sunday Cali and I had a playdate with our friends Emily and Spencer!  We took the kids to the Greensboro Children's Museum.  They had a blast running around, playing with the toys and destroying things!  It was so cute to see them almost play together.  We spent most of our time in the toddler area.  Cali did manage to escape twice, but I caught her before she got too far!

It was hard to get a picture of the kids together because they didn't stop moving.

Spencer and Cali crawling through the tunnels.
Cali pointing at me to follow her into the train.
The difference between boys and girls.  Cali is in the dining car setting the table and Spencer is showing off his truck.  I love it!
Setting the table.
After playing we decided to be brave and take the kids out to dinner.  Two toddlers at one table in a restaurant was very entertaining!  At one point the two at our table started a singing chorus that encouraged a toddler at another table to join in!  So there were 3 toddlers singing/ talking loudly.

All four of us!  The kids were tired of being in their high chairs.
It was a great day!  The kids had a blast and it was so fun to catch up with my friend.

Red Table

As a military family we moved a lot growing up. Every couple of years we would pack everything up and go to a new place. There were always some items that were lost or damaged. But there was one thing that made it all these years. The red table and chairs. I remember being in elementary school playing on it.

Thursday it arrived at our house for Cali to enjoy.

She loves it! She has colored in it, had snack on it and read books on it.
I'm so glad she is able to enjoy something that I used to have.

Jordan Family Myrtle Beach Trip

The Jordan family hit Myrtle Beach last week! With a 6 year old and 1.5 year old vacations can be very entertaining! Between naps, snack time, shopping and eating we spent a ton of time at the pool. Here are a bunch of pictures from our adventure!

Pool fun!

Playing cards with Grandma

Cali loved the fish at the aquarium

We played at the beach on our last day there. It was very windy and we actually got rained on but Cali still managed to play in the sand.

Getting their feet wet!

We had a great week with family!  Can't wait to do it again next year!

All grown up

Have you ever had a moment when you felt all grown up?  I had one of those today.

In high school there was a group of us, 5 to be exact, that hung out all the time.  There were 2 boys and 3 girls.  We all went to different high schools but the same church.  We spent hours and hours on grand adventures.  Whether it was exploring DC at 11pm, 4th of July on the Mall or "decorating" someone's house with TP at 2am.  We were "The Crew" and were loved spending time together.

Now over 10 years have past and we have all gone our separate ways.  Through facebook and blogs we keep up with each other.  Every year or so we may cross paths.  Here is a picture of my buddy Jason and I before a homecoming dance.  We were so young.

Here we are today with our girls.  Cali 1.5 yrs old and Shelby 2.5 months old.  It was so strange to see him as a dad.

And here we are with our spouses.  Amazing what can happen in 10 years!

As I drove back to work I realized... I'm a grown up.

Just Cute

Cali run around the house in her diaper playing before her bath last night.  She was just being cute.

She loves to do this position.   Apparently the world looks funny upside down.

Adorable!

Mini Getaway

Nick and I were able to have a mini getaway Friday night.  Some friends had given us a gift certificate to a local resort that included one night stay, breakfast and spa treatments.  The past few weeks have been crazy with work and Nick being gone to camp, so when we saw an empty Friday and Saturday we took it.

Friday night we went out to a very nice dinner at Green Valley Grill then headed over to Grandover.  They have a really nice pool so we went swimming.

Saturday we slept in (no toddler waking us up at 7am!).  The resort had a yummy breakfast that we followed up with more pool time.  Then we had a couples massage.

What about Cali you ask?  She has her first girls sleep over!  Her friend Chelsea came over to play!  They watched girl movies (Baby Einstein's), ate junk food (cookies), and stayed up late (8pm).

Saturday they went over to Chelsea's house to play with her little sister, Landon.

Everyone had fun!
