Snow Dogs

Cali wasn't the only one who enjoyed the snow. Here is a fun video of the dogs playing in the snow.

More Snow!

We got more snow! By 8am we had 5.5 inches of snow and its still coming down! After breakfast we all got bundled up and went out to play.

Cali had a great time watching the dogs running around.

After lunch we brought some snow in for Cali to play with on her tray. Once she realized it was cold she wasn't too excited. Nick gave her a spoon to play with and that made her happy.

11 months old!

Cali was 11 months old yesterday! Our little girl is almost 1 year old! The past 11 months have been amazing! Cali brings such joy, laugher, and love to our lives everyday. She continues to be such a blessing! God has taught us so much about His love for us through her!

Cali's 11 month stats:
  • 5 teeth - 2 on top and 3 on bottom
  • Sleeps 6:30pm to 6:30am and wakes up once to nurse around 3am
  • Still will only nap in someone's arms (she has won the nap battle for now!)
  • Loves to eat anything she can feed herself! Favorites are: toast, shredded cheese, pancakes, peas, cherrios, and puffs.
  • Crawls all over the place and fast!
  • She is "cruising" on furniture
  • She can stand on her own for a few seconds before falling or grabbing onto something
  • She makes lots of fun noises but no words yet
  • She can clap
  • She loves to play with anything that lights up or makes noise! She also likes to take small things out of containers. Example: she pulls all her blocks out of the box.
  • When she does something she is proud of she gets a huge grin
  • Weights 18 lbs 9 ozs

Better!

Cali is doing TONS better today!

She did got up at 4:30am this morning and couldn't open her little eyes because they were stuck closed from the sinus stuff draining out! We wiped it off with a warm cloth, feed her and off to sleep she went.

She had a good day with Nick. She only took 2 naps instead of the 3 she has been taking while sick. Nick said she played a ton and was all over the place.

It was great to come home to a smily, happy baby! I had missed her! Hopefully tomorrow will be even better!

I am also feeling much better today!

Dr. Visit

Last night Cali got up 4 times. She spent the morning home with Nick and did pretty well. At lunch time we noticed she had yellow stuff coming out of her left eye! Nick called me around 2 to say she had stuff coming out both of her eyes and the stuff coming out of her nose was bloody. First class ticket to the pediatrician!

Verdict:
- Right ear has an ear infection (her 1st one)
- She has a cold going around that causes: fever (check), cough (check), sneezing (check), runny nose (check), diarrhea (check), and sinus stuff coming out the eyes (check)

The Dr. gave us antibiotics for her ear infection and antibiotic eye drops. She said Cali should be feeling much better within 2 days.

This is what the poor girl looked like while we waited for the Dr. to come in.

still sick

Cali and I are still fighting this cold. Saturday night was rough. We were all up most of the night. Cali was couching, sneezing and had a fever of 101.5.

Sunday Cali and I stayed home from church and rested. Poor Cali would wake up every 30 minutes to cough so it wasn't good rest. The biggest help has been sitting in the bathroom with hot water running. The steam seems to really help.

Last night was better and Cali only got up twice. She hasn't wanted to eat any solid foods so I'm nursing her a lot. She is sneezing a lot and when she does gross stuff comes out her nose. She prefers to use my shirt instead of a tissue to wipe it off.

I stayed home from work today to rest and take care of Cali. My head feels like it weights 50 pounds and my nose will not stop running. I don't understand how I can be stopped up and have a runny nose at the same time!

Here is what we look like currently. I know I look beautiful.

By the way - Nick isn't neglecting us, he had church stuff all day yesterday and today.

Sick

Since we got back from our Disney trip Cali has not felt well. Monday she had a fever of 100.6. By Tuesday it was down to a normal range with the help of Tylenol. She has just not been her normal self all week. Nick even stayed home with her a few days so she could rest.

Today the full blown cold showed up. She has a runny nose, a horrible couch, is sneezing and sounds like she has sinus drainage. The poor thing is just pitiful!

Unfortunately she is a good sharer and I woke up with it this morning. Nick has been great and let me take 2 naps today. Hopefully tomorrow we will both be doing a little better.

Disney Adventure

Disney was a grand adventure!

We went to Disney World with my parents, my sister and her family for 5 days. We went to Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Cali experienced her first plane ride! The trip only took 2 hours and she did great!

Thursday was a travel day.

Friday we went to Magic Kingdom. Cali rode on the Pirates of the Caribbean, Its a Small World, and the Haunted Mansion. She also got to see 2 parades!

In front of Cinderella's castle.

Waiting for another parade to start.

Saturday we went to Epcot with the Grandparents. She rode the Nemo ride twice! She rode the boat ride in the Land, Mexico and Norway. We ended the evening at a pub for dinner.

Cali really liked the Nemo ride.

Enjoying dinner with the grandparents.

Sunday we all went to Hollywood Studios. We didn't get into the park until lunch time. We spent the day walking around and Cali napped. We ended the night at the hotel restaurant.
Monday we traveled home.

It was a great trip and a great time to spend with family.

Christmas - Take 2

We are lucky enough to have both our families within an hour of us. This makes holiday travel very easy. We had a great time hanging out with the Jordan's on Dec. 25th! The past 2 days have been Christmas with the Vitkus family. Santa even came this morning and ate the cookies we put out!

We all spent the night at my parents house and woke up to "Christmas morning" today. Cali had a rough night. We were awake from 3-5am. Finally she fell asleep in my arms on the sofa and slept until 7am. The Nap War is continuing by the way. We left my parents house early today just so she would sleep in the car for a nap at 2:30. She was awake for 7.5 hrs! She went to bed at 6pm tonight exhausted!

Friday we got to my parents at around 4. The kids played until dinner. Cali got her first real "war wound" of a black eye while showing off her standing skills. She was standing up and had one hand of the sofa and the other had a toy plastic block. Gravity showed up and Cali went down, only the block hit her right eye. Lots of crying (Cali and me), a little blood but we made it through. After dinner the kids opened their Christmas PJ's from the grandparents. Then off to bed so Santa could come.

This morning after a yummy breakfast we tore into the HUGE pile of presents! It was great fun to see the 3 kids playing with paper, toys, and boxes! We spent the rest of the morning playing with all of our new toys and cleaning up. Dad fixed a wonderful Christmas lunch!

We enjoyed both Christmas adventures and Cali racked up on the presents!

Here are the photos!
