Party Time!

We had a company party this evening for our employees and their families. It included Chick-fil-A nuggets, Smitty's Ice Cream, La Cocina Fajitas, and a MOON BOUNCE! Cali had a great time pushing her car all over the shop.

Nick is in Atlanta so Grandma Jordan has been playing with Cali today. While I set up the food Mom kept up with Cali as she showed off her walking skills.

We had balls and other toys for the kids. Cali loved this big soccer ball that was almost as big as her.

Then we played in the moon bounce. Cali even knew what to do and was bouncing! It was so cute!
We had a great time and were so lucky to spend the time with Grandma Jordan.

John Deere Girl

Cali spent the afternoon at work with me. One of our errands sent us to a John Deere store. They had a toy section that we played in while the salesman checked us out. This is Cali driving the John Deere Mini Loader! She loved it!
Then she figured out it had a handle to move the bucket!
I know, I know but we live in North Carolina, she has to be a little country! Ha!

Go Mom!! Go Grandpa!!

Dad and I ran a 5k race this morning. It was a really good race with over 300 runners. The last time we rain a race together I wasn't pregnant yet and his cancer hadn't come back. So its been a while!

I have only been training for the past 6 weeks, I started running when I was weaning Cali. Dad has been feeling really good lately but loses energy quickly so he didn't get to train too much.

We both had pretty low expectations for our times, but we both actually did really well! I now have a PR of 34 min 45 sec!! And dad rain/ walked it in under 48 minutes!

This is the sweet "Pace Bunny" who kept me going and helped me finish in under 35 minutes. She was the 12 minute mile pace runner. I just stuck with her the whole time and she distracted me when I was having a hard time. The last .5 mile was really hard for me so in between breaths I asked her to tell me about her kids. And before I knew it I saw the finish line.

This is dad about to finish the race. We were so proud of him! To think how far he has come in a year! Wow - God is good!

Nick and Cali did a great job of cheering us on! There were some people from church there so Nick and Cali hung out with them while we rain. Nick said Cali did great and even clapped for the runners.

We were tired but so happy to be done!

After the race there was a little festival with food, rides and vendors. Nick had to work so the rest of us walked around. Dad and I celebrated our successful run with funnel cake! We even shared some with Cali. She LOVED it and kept trying to grab the whole plate. Once we were all covered in powder sugar we headed home. Dad and Cali took naps to recover from the exciting morning.

Busy Bee

Cali has been a very busy bee this weekend.

Saturday we went to my sisters house, "Toyland" to play with family and to see Cali's Great Aunt Louanne who is in town from Indiana.

Cali had a bee on her bloomers! Too Cute!

Cali playing with her cousins.

Cali's playing by Great Aunt Louanne and the new quilt made by her Grandma.

Sunday morning we had church. Here is Cali being escorted around by her friends Rayn and Grace.

Our church had a potluck dinner this evening. We had a lot of fun eating, hanging out with our church family and playing. Cali had her toy car that she pushed ALL OVER the gym. She passed out as soon as we got home. Another weekend of adventures.

Our Girly Girl

Not sure how I - a self proclaimed tomboy - ended up with a girly girl.

But here she is. Her big thing these days are purses. She LOVES to carry around purses, baskets or anything with a strap that she can put her arm through.
She at least has good taste in bags. She loves to carry by Vera Bradley mini-purse everywhere. The funny face is due to the flash on my camera.
The bow in her hair is a fluke however. This was the longest she has every kept a bow in her hair, all total it was around 4 minutes.

City Park

Cali and I went to the City Park yesterday. Nick was hanging out with some students from church so we headed out to play.

This was the first time that I took her to a park since she has become so mobile and wasn't sure what to expect. She was all over the place and loved it. She still has to hold your fingers to walk but she is pretty demanding when she wants to go somewhere. We played on the big jungle gym part for a while. She and I played tic-tac-toe and she drove the car (see below).

Since we have a slide in our living room she was excited when she saw the park's slides. We went down 2 different kinds. She also loved to watch the other kids as they ran around the park.

We ended our adventure with Cali's first ride on a carousel! Our City Park has a bunch of little rides kids can play on and the tickets only cost $ .75!

Cali wasn't too sure what to think about the carousel. She did a great job of holding onto the pole but seemed confused by the movement. We'll try again in a few weeks and see if she enjoys it more.

Happy Easter

Cali had a great 2nd Easter! The day was filled with baskets, bunnies, bubbles and family.

This morning she opened her Easter basket from the Easter Bunny (us). It was filled with books, plastic eggs and gold fish. Yeah for Target and their dollar section. Whole thing, including the basket, cost less than $6!
We then got all dressed up and went to church. Here is the Jordan family at church. For the first time ever we had 2 services and packed the house for both services! It was awesome!

Then Cali and I came home for a nap (Cali) and to cook (me). After a 2 hour nap we headed to lunch with Nick's family. Cali wasn't too interested in eating lunch so she played and showed off her walking skills. Her Great Aunt Pam had this fun toy that she pushed all over their back deck.
Cali got a second Easter basket that contained BUBBLES!! Honestly they confused her, she wasn't sure what they were. We'll try them again tomorrow and see what she thinks. This is her confused face.

Then Cali got to meet Billy the Bunny. He was a really cute and soft white bunny with grey ears. He was very relaxed and just sat in Cousin Jennifer's lap while Cali pulled a bunch of hair out. We have to work on her petting animal skills.

Cali then got a 3rd Easter basket with another book and a big pink stuffed bunny.

We are so blessed to have family who love Cali and what to help her experience life.
