Being real

For Father's Day we all loaded up and went to a local park. Nick and I wore the twins as we walked around. Cali liked visiting the sheep and goats. There was a park for Cali to play on and a stage.

I took a few pictures of Nick with the kids sitting on the stage. I could show you the photo with smiles and eyes looking at the camera. Instead I show you this photo. The is my real family.

Nick is smiling. Cali is talking, something she does ALL day long. Henry is trying to climb out of Nick's arms, he is always moving. And Hannah is just sitting back, chilling.

So there you have the perfect picture of my family. A real picture.

Seven Month Twin Update

The Jordan kids are getting so BIG!  Cali is doing great as a big sister and enjoys the babies most of the time.  She misses getting 100%  of our attention but is doing well.  She is a big helper with the babies.  She will tell us if they are crying, she will give them their pacifiers and even sing to them when they are upset.

The babies are so active these days.  They stay awake for 2.5 to 3 hour stretches so they are doing so much more.  They like their exersaucers, the bouncy seats and sitting up.

Playtime looks like this!  They both sit up well on their own but the boppy pillows help just in case someone falls over.  With two babies, you can't catch them both if they tip over at the same time (which  happens a lot!) so the pillows add protection.

Playing Catch Up

Life with 3 kids 3 and under is keeping us beyond busy!  Between kids, work, family and church it seems like we are always going.  On top of that our laptop has been being dumb for the past month and I finally got it fixed last night.  So here are about four posts worth of pictures and information in one!  Enjoy!

Random Twin News:
Last Sunday June 3rd the twins when to the nursery at church for the first time!  They did great but I'm anticipating this week won't go as well since they will know what is up this week!  Yes, I know they are almost 7 months and that is a long time to wait to put them in the nursery.  Yes, my husband is a pastor there.  But I waited a year before I put Cali in the nursery.  So yes, I am THAT mom.  Moving on...

The twins have dropped their evening nap.  They take a long morning nap, a nap after lunch and a short afternoon nap.

Henry's first tooth finally broke through this week!  The poor boy has been drooling and teething for weeks.

Both babies are doing great at sitting up and are enjoying playing with their toys.

PICTURES!!

In May the kids and I joined "Aunt" Angie and Landon to pick strawberries!  The girls had a blast and the babies chilled in the stroller.  Cali has come a long way in her berry picking skills.

Cali playing with her cousins on there NEW bunk beds!

Kimmie is 8!  She had a super fun Mickey Mouse birthday party.  Here are the girls in their Minnie ears.

Henry hanging out with Uncle Tim.

The famous Cindy Bailey came down to visit and finally got to meet the twins.  She moved up north before they were born.  Hannah Bailey is named after this amazing, Godly woman.

It was 86 degrees last week so we broke out Cali's pool while the babies napped.  She and Daddy got very wet!

Landon turned 5 and had a pool birthday party.  Cali loves the water!  Abby and the rest of the Dickey's helped me chase Cali in the pool.

For Mother's day I asked for a night away.  Yes, I single night where I could do whatever I wanted and sleep uninterrupted!   There was a Gluten Free conference in Charlotte last Saturday so I left the house Friday afternoon and stayed downtown.  I went to Ikea, meet up with some blog friends for dinner, stayed in the awesome room below and hit the conference Saturday.  It was a perfect Mom Vacation!
Here are some pictures from the conference.

So there is our life for the past few weeks!

Veggies

We have been introducing vegetables to the twins the past two weeks. We started with avocados last week and carrots this week. Hannah seems to like avocado and Henry likes carrots the best.

My plan is to make as much of the baby food as I can to save cost, to avoid Gluten and preservatives. We will see how long it lasts!

Six Month Twin Update

The twins are 1/2 a year old today!  Crazy, crazy!  Time seems to be going by so quickly with three little ones filling up our days.  The twins sweet personalities are really coming out now.

Hannah is a home body like her Daddy.  When at home she is happy, calm and content.  When we are out she is very clingy to Mommy and Daddy.  Henry is very needy at home and when we are out he is calm and relaxed.  Hannah is very picky about who can hold her and Henry will go to just about anyone!

They are also getting more mobile.  Henry is especially interested in moving and getting into things. He is a very good supported sitter.  He will sit up and play with toys happily.  Hannah prefers to be laying down playing or standing up.  She does pretty well sitting up but doesn't enjoy it as much.

Introducing solids

The twins are five months old (24 weeks) so we thought it was time to introduce solid foods.   Henry has also been longingly staring at me while I eat.  Monday we pulled out the high chairs and gave it a try.

Here is their first attempt at food.  We mixed rice cereal with breast milk.

They both did pretty good.  It was super messy!  Hannah caught onto it faster but by day three Henry is doing good too.
