Thanksgiving 2012

We were blessed to have two Thanksgiving events this year with family!  The first was at Grannie's house (Nick's grandma).  It was a smaller group than at Christmas so we all fit in her house.  We had a great time catching up with family and even got to see a few cousins we hadn't seen in years.  The twins did great and ate a ton of food.  This is the first Thanksgiving where they got to enjoy the yummy food.  Cali had a blast playing with cousins and running around.

On Friday we even got our tree up and decorated!  Cali did the bottom half and was so proud of it!  We'll see if we can keep the twins from knocking it over between now and Christmas!

The second celebration was at our house on Saturday.  This was with my side of the family to include my mom and my sister and her family.  This worked out great because we had a wonderful meal, took a trip to the park to play and the twins stayed on schedule!

They big cousins had a great time at the park together!  They played tag, when down the slide and even played in the dirt.  What more could you want for your Thanksgiving memories?!

Twin's Mickey and Minnie 1st Birthday Party

Saturday we celebrated the twins turning one!  Praise the Lord we survived the first year.  We were so blessed to be able to invite a small group of family and friends to a party.  Cali decided it needed to be a Mickey and Minnie party which we thought was a perfect fit for boy/girl twins.

Mickey Cupcakes

The food was all kid friendly.  Chicken nuggets, apple sauce, chips, juice boxes, veggies and dip, and cupcakes.

After lunch we had present time.  I helped Hannah open hers and Nick helped Henry.  They got lots of toys and adorable clothes.

Hannah decided to show off her standing skills for everyone.
Henry is starting to look like such a big boy these days.

This is the best picture I could get off all three kids.   I got them matching Mickey and Minnie shirts.  The twins shirts have a number 1 and their names.  Cali's had a Minnie face and her name.

We did the smash cakes for the twins.  We tied ballons to their chair which turned out to be very entertaining for them.  We actually had to hide the ballons so they would focus on the cake.

Henry went to town right away and it took Hannah a few minute to realize it tasted good.

We had a ton of fun and are just so blessed to have wonderful people in our lives.

Fall Fun and So Proud

Fall is just so fun!  Last Friday Cali and Nick worked on the raking the leaves.  Of course this lead to leaf jumping and other fun.  Here are some pictures from their adventure!

After I got home we took everyone on a wagon ride.  Cali is a wagon pro but it was the twins first time.    Henry just sat in the middle and smiled the whole time.  Hannah wanted to be on her knees and look around.

Cali loves to play with her art supplies.  She is getting better at working with scissors and glue.  On Tuesday she did one project on her own and one that I helped her with.  The project she did on her own she made for me and even put my name on it!  She wrote MOM all by herself!!  We were beyond proud of her.
See the MOM?!  So proud!
The second project was a joint effort.  I wrote all the letters of the alphabet and cut them out.  Cali glued them all down in order with very little help!  We have a brilliant 3 year old!  She wanted to hang the picture in her bedroom.
The girl knows her alphabet!

Happy Halloween

We started our Halloween festivities on Monday at Trunk or Treat at Cali's play school.  Luckily it was inside due to the cold rainy weather.   Cali doesn't have class on Monday but parents were invited to bring the kids even if they weren't in school that day.  Cali was excited to go to school dressed up in her cat costume.  I just put the babies in their bear hats to make it easy.  She got to see her friends in their costumes and gave hugs to her little girl friends!  It was adorable!

On Wednesday Cali was beyond excited all day and kept asking Nick if it was time for us to go trick or treating.  She wore her costume all day and even put herself down for a nap because Nick told her we weren't going until after nap time!  When I came home from work she couldn't wait for us to go and was asking a million questions.  Holidays are so much fun with kids!

On Halloween we joined some friends from church to trick or treat in their neighborhood.  There were maybe 20 of us walking around the neighborhood.  It was super fun but chaos because this is a pretty popular part of town.  I bet there were over 300 kids walking around this one street!  Cali did great saying "Trick or Treat! Thank you!"  She was so excited every time someone gave her a piece of candy that she had to give us updates on how full her pumpkin was getting.  The twins stayed in the stroller for most of it and enjoyed their dinner while we walked around.

Back at our friends house the kids ate dinner and cooked s'mores.  It was getting late so we didn't hang around too long.  But we did get Cali a s'more.  She loved it!  Once we got home it was bed time but we did let her eat one of her treats.
